“Caring for myself is not self-indulgence, it is self-preservation.”  –Audre Lorde

Self-Awareness (ME TOO!)

The popular phrase, ‘ME TOO’ has been heard all around the globe.  Women are more FEARLESS than ever! We are organizing, speaking up, stand up, march up on the hills of Washington, DC. The Women’s March on Washington…among others has shaken the world to attention, drawing ears closer. The voices that were once silenced by systematic intimidation, oppression, and abuse have awakened our power within. Being my ‘sisters keeper’ is not a historic cliché but a commitment to justice, equity and equality on all platforms. There’s a torch of responsibility to fulfill our purpose while ensuring a healthy climate for our children, neighbors, nation, and globe. Oprah Winfrey so eloquently states during her acceptance speech at the 75th Annual Golden Globe Awards:

What I know for sure is that speaking your truth is the most powerful tool we all have’. Your story matters, our stories matter! They will no longer be utilized to incite shame, fear, bondage, isolation…etc but through such stories emerge fire to ignite change that there will be ‘a time when nobody ever has to say, ‘me too’ ever again’.

Through the words of Oprah Winfrey ‘know, that a new day is on the horizon’!
